Weird cramps

Recommended Posts

Good morning

I have been experiencing some weird stomach pain where I can actually feel the little stomach pouch cramped, the top of my stomach gets hard and it hurts the pain radiates to my back even up my shoulders, the first time it happened I swear I thought I was having a heart attack. It comes out do no where, someone told me that I may be eating too fast or when you eat too much sweet but that's not always the case. Sometimes the pain it's so bad it takes my breath away the pain can last up to 25/30 minutes and then dissipate. I also get a lot of heartburn I take Nexium everyday and also take rollaid everyday. Has this happened to anyone

Your symptoms sounds like you may have a leak. Please go see your doctor immediately. I had a doubt if i had a leak and the doctor asked me to go for a ct scan. You will be asked to drink 2 liters of this medicine mixed with Water and then they will go for a ct scan. Its not painful at all.

Ok. Im not sure if a leak can happen this late after surgery, but you have consider what kind of method was used to seal your stomach. Was it staples or was it stiches? Because the risk of late post op leak is possible if staples were used to seal the stamch instead of stiches. I have read journals where a leak was reported more than a year after surgery. Please know that i am not trying to scare you. Im just saying that it is better to be safe than sorry. When i had my oubt, i had it clarified immediately by going for a CT scan. Your said symptoms all point out to a leak, Shoulder pain, heartburn, Pain etc. Please consult your doctor immediately. I was sleeved on Jan 2, 2014 and im really looking for feedback on my problems with people who has done this surgery before. I hope everything works out well for you. Good luck

I am no doctor but it sounds like it could be the gallbladder. I was sleeved in July and I am having mine out next week. I have done a lot of reading on this topic. Do you have pain on your right side just under your right rib? This pain also goes to the back under your shoulder blades.

There is so many people that write they think they are having a heart attack Some have major pain and some minor. Mine is minor but I had heard a lot about rapid weight loss and 30 % of patients have issues with gallbladder. I called my doctor when I started having sysmtoms and they do an ultra sound. They did and I have very large ones ( stones ). Call your doc to be safe.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
