Started this journey in October of last year and had my last weigh in on Monday of this week. Started my sugar busters on Tuesday and now waiting to hear from my insurance company on an approval. Struggled a bit the first two days but feeling much better today. I am looking so forward to my new life and new relationship with food............ I know and realize this is a marathon and not a sprint!!!!!!!

I remember those days! From June through October last year I thought I'd go crazy! with a capital K! Seriously. My insurance company drove me nuts. Do this, do that, Don't lose any weight, but don't worry about gaining any. Then, literally ten days before the end of my hoop jump process they changed the rules on me and I had to crash off at least five pounds or start the entire process all over again. I made it, just by the skin of my teeth! Then there was the five week nail biter wait for my approval and letter. But it is all worth it. I promise! Because I have my band, it is the best. tool. ever. It is working for me and I am so happy that I went through all of that nonsense.

Hang in there. You'll get there. It feels like forever, right now. But before you know it, you'll be looking back on it all and be so happy that you did it and you will be encouraging someone writing a post like this. :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
