tomorrow is the day...

I'm scheduled for my gastric sleeve tomorrow morning at 7a.m. So nervous!

I'm going to spend the day shopping for hospital necessities and ending it with

a pedicure for a last little treat to myself. Hopefully this will keep my mind off of

the surgery. Anyone else scheduled for tomorrow?

I was originally, but now I am scheduled for Wednesday instead. I still don't have a time, but I expect to find out either today or tomorrow. I have been buying supplies a little bit at a time. I am sure that I have forgotten something. Best of luck to you justforme2014 :)

I'll be going through the experience tomorrow with you, so to speak. I'm scheduled to be there at 6:30. Good idea with keeping busy today. Love the idea of the pedicure, something to make you feel nice and pampered. Reminds me I should do some clipping to be a bit more presentable and that makes me think how happy I'll be when I can work on my toes comfortably instead of wrestling with my own legs like I have to do now.

Isn't it wild to think this time tomorrow we'll be recovering and on our way to new adventures. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
