PROTEIN HELP PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

Good question. I think it's on all out minds from time to time. My nut pounded it in my head also. I suggest the same things as others as far as baby bell cheese cottage cheese, refried Beans and eggs beaters. I found Adkins bars the other day and thought they may be good but the reviews say no. I wasn't much help but wanted to thank you for posting the question.

Ditto on the shakes. Mine has to be fruity and not too sweet. I've been using a 100 calorie Greek yogurt(lime), handful of frozen strawberries, splash of lime juice, splash of orange juice, ice , Water and 2 packs of stevia. Blend it up and drink/ eat for Breakfast. 13 grams Protein and lots of my morning liquid

Add some unflavored Protein powder or even vanilla protrin powder to this and boost your protein! Would be good I think.

I didn't know what PB2 was so I Googled it and it is a powdered processed food. They turn the peanuts into powder but extract some of its natural components. The thing I'm not loving about this way of eating so far is all the crystal light and aspartame I ingest on a daily basis. I don't thing that's all that healthy. It's in yogurt, pudding, just about all the food. Anyone else ever worry about it?

I know I'm late responding, but I wanted to let you know, I had that same worry. Now I use propel. It has Splenda in it which is a little better. I only need half of what they recommend and it's great! It has vit b and other good things in it as well.

Just because your in mushy stage I would still do Protein Drink for breakfast. . Some people on here are really pushing too much Protein. . We really only need 40-60 a day per my doc

My doctor said I have to have 80-120 grams a day.

I make hummus at least once a week. For dippers, I buy Kraft Deli Deluxe cheese (yes, it matters) and cut a slice into 9 even squares. Then I arrange them into a circle on parchment paper in my microwave. Cook on high for 45 seconds. Viola. Little crunchy cheese crackers. 80 calories, >1 carb and 5 grams of Protein.

I also use "Just Great Stuff" powdered organic Peanut Butter powder. It isn't unnatural -- it's made with organic peanuts, organic coconut sugar and sea salt. It has 45 calories in 2 TBs and only 1.5 grams of fat. It has 5 g of carbs (1 is fiber) -- so it'd be hard to make you dump. It also has 4 grams of Protein. I mix 1 T with a 1/4 of PLAIN greek yogurt. It is delicious. Greek yogurt has about 22 grams of protein per cup -- so about 6 grams in my 1/4 cup. This can be eaten plain or you can use it as a very healthy dip --- my son loves to eat it on apple slices.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
