Almost 8 months out exactly, and I have hit my goal weight! Woo hooooo!!! This is just the beginning, I know, but it feels GREAT! I love this little sleeve of mine! It truly has been a journey, and at times rather challenging, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has been the best decision I ever made for my health and my life.

Thanks to all you out there in forum land for all the posts and advice and support. Couldn't have done this without you. Cheers!

Keep on keepin' on, sleevers!

Congrats! wehad our surgeries done around the same time and our start weights were almost the same too!

I had my VSG May 8th

Start weight 255

Current weight 148

Goal 130's (even if its 139, I want to see the 130's!!!)

Congrats! What size are you into now? I started in a 20-22 (well, I was squeezing into an 18 but needed that 20-22!) and now I zip right into an 8!!!

LyndseyD, we do have similar stats! I'm in a size 10 now, can't wait to see an 8! I'm visiting with my surgeon in about 3 weeks and it looks like we'll be adjusting my goal weight. This doesn't feel like "it'" yet, ya know what I mean? I wanna see some 140s!!!

Surgery June 3rd

Starting weight 256

Size 22

We've come a long way, baby!

How tall are you gals? You have similar start weights as me, and my goal is going to be 135-140; I was just wondering if that is really even feasible, without looking too gaunt. I'm 5'6".

I am 5-5.5

I hope to see 135, I think that puts me safely in the 130's with a little wiggle room. I need to start working out, I plan ot join a gym here in the next two week, just have to wait until my new tattoo heals :)

I don't feel like this is "it" either. I have hit a plateau really bad lately. I haven't lost anything for about a month now...

These are amazing stories! I was sleeved just the 14 of January and I saw my surgeon for follow up today he told me if I don't lose to my goal weight in 6 months I've failed the sleeve? That this tool works best in 6 months and the rest is maintaining! So to hear your losing still encourages me! He said if I don't work out and burn 1000 calories a day I won't lose? Wow do you work out this much?? I love your stories I was day if surgery 224 now 210 stalled for a week now and am freaking out!

I am 8 1/2 months out (surgery 5/31) and I have lost 96 pounds. Started at 253 and currently 157 at 5' 6. My surgeon told me 6 months was the "honeymoon" period where it was all easier. When I hit 6 months and hadn't lost it all I was disappointed, but I really don't know why anymore. I have still been losing weight after that 6 month period, although it has slowed some. But still losing. Don't be discouraged if you don't lose it all in 6 months. Just keep working the plan. You don't have any control over how fast it comes off. What you CAN control is how you eat and exercise :-)

PS. I don't exercise. I've done it through eating "on plan"

This is great advice. I haven't even been sleeved yet and you're already making me feel better.

your surgeon sounds like a real jerk, and treating patients like that is going to kill someone. Yes, the first 6 months the weight just falls off with little to no effort, but you do continue loosing up until 18 months, though much slower. I lost about 80 lbs the first 6 months, and have lost almost 30 more. In total I have lost 110lbs as of this morning. your doctor is crazy about telling you to work out and burn that many calories. I don't even eat 1000 calories a day, why would I want to burn everthing I take in, your body still needs energy to survive. I would check into his stats... with advise like that he's going to kill someone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
