No Longer As Frustrated

Recommended Posts

Last week, I made a post about my frustration with my weight loss (or lack thereof) and today I am still in the same boat. I only lost .4 pounds this week which is frustrating BUT I took my measurements today and I have lost 4 inches overall in the last 2 weeks. I attribute this to the hot yoga classes that I have been doing. It's a lot less frustrating seeing minimal weight loss on the scale when I know that I am losing fat but gaining muscle.

That was one big mistake I made from the beginning I never took my measurements and wish I had. I know that I am losing inches even when the scale doesn't move as my clothes start to fall off :)

Same regret here. Plus, I put aside a garment to compare with and now have mistakenly discarded it. I rarely took pictures in the past, so I really have very little to look back on.

Thanks for the reminder to take measurements -- I have been doing that monthly since just before surgery and was due for a new set if numbers at the end of January. I love the pants size as a way to Celebrate success. Started at 18 long and now in 14 long same brand Lee jeans. Hate the scale for standing still or going up then down then up, etc., but loving my pants. Important to remember it's about health and comfort and energy levels, etc., not just the bloody scale.

Well a little something is better than nothing. Just be patient, keep following your doctor's orders and you will lose. This journey doesn't happen overnight. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
