Hello everyone!

Recommended Posts

Brand new bandster here :) Thursday the 23rd was my date. I'm still slowly recovering. Just excited that t gas pains are almost all gone! Still very fatigued and sore though! Feeling a little dehydrated today though so I need to make sure I get on my fluids! I am on fluids for at least a week which is getting kind of boring! Just happy I ate some Tomato Soup yesterday that was to die for!! I have lost 5 lbs but I know that's just Water weight and not really counting it since I'm in healing mode (I'll count it if it stays off). Just wanted to say hii to everyone :) so happy to be on the other side!

That was the worst part for me! The first two days were absolute killer! Today it's the head hunger struggle and opening the fridge to grab Jello and seeing rolls and Bagels and cheese and deli meats! Thank god for Tomato Soup though!

That must be rough for you Betty to have to do the 12 month thing. My pre-op journey was 3 months start to surgery and to me that was so long! It's def worth it though! The liquid diet is just a wrinkle in time compared to the whole journey. Soups keeping me sane :)

open your mind to all liquids you can eat or fix. everytime you get a fill you will be back on that liquid diet. boo! when i go for a fill i get a chicen Soup started. i drink the broth while on liquids and than pulverize for mushie part of fill recovery. drink plenty of fluids. my favorite is crystal lite. i make 2 quarts in the morning. i alternate good old Water with crystal lite. but if i finish the 2 quarts i know i did well. also drink, tea, coffee, sf koolaid apple juice etc. on the liquid part of your diet. fruit juice isn't recommended after wards to many calories. and sugar. well good luck it sounds like you are on the right track

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
