It would take 181.4 pennies to equal one pound. I think I just found a new way to save.....hmmm....could be a nice way to reward myself as I shed those pounds....

found this on a blog and it fit on this thread:

Hello, do you know me? If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!! After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!

As my husband and I were driving home from TGIF tonight, he said we are fat. We are. He went to the cardiologist the other day and he was not thrilled. Hub gained some weight back. He is as lazy as me lately not going to the gym. Saw my WLS doctor today and he wants me back at the gym, too. I gained 3 pounds.

Have a great weekend.

ok. dylan, so you gained

you acknowledged..you know what to do and what not to do

and 3 pounds is not all that bad...who knows maybe you didnt have a good poop or

had some water/salt retention......so you and hub get right back on it today...

eat your allotted amount

make better food choices/options

and if you dont go to the gym or (walk due to 60 feet of snow on ground)

be mindful of the cals in vs cals burned off aspect

i do that when i dont exercise...as 3500 cals is a pound ate or drank

YOU can and WILL do this and get throught it

we are with you every step of the way

I got on my scale this morning and I was about 5 pounds less than yesterday. Oh well.

Thank you for the kind and to the point thoughts.

I saw that your Tars beat BC today. My niece went to BC and I know a lot of people that went there. I grew up about 2 miles from there on the main street, Commonwealth Avenue. About 2 miles down the other way was BU.

Snowed today, UGH! My MIL insisted on going food shopping, so we took her. I do the driving and the shopping, hub sits and observes.

Have a great weekend.

i think weight loss success is how people shape their daily plans, (what they do today)

and to think about the small steps they have already made instead of (i haven't loss, i am stalled, what a i doing wrong)

read this.....NOTHING has gone wrong

read this too.........A LOSS IS A LOSS....

If I could just tell my stomach to go outside and play like mom did when we were kids. LOL.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
