I've been banded for almost 4 months and just today I noticed when I walk I can feel my port moving inside me kinda like when I was first banded. Is this normal? Did something happen with the port? Has this happened to anyone? Thank you for your help.

Hmmmm....I have never just felt mine. Mine is a low profile port and it is buried deep, and I carry my excess weight mostly in my belly. Do you have a regular port or a low profile?

Have you mentioned feeling it to your Dr.? Are you planning another fill anytime soon? They might feel it themselves then I was thinking.

Let us know how this turns out!

I'm not sure if mine is low profile or not. I just started feeling it today. I won't be getting a fill until April 16. I have always been able to feel my port from the outside but never felt this feeling before. I'll call my doctor. Thank you.

I went in today to get my first fill. I am 6 weeks post op. The Doctor was unable to access my port. He tried multiple times. He finally stopped because I was getting quesy and light headed. He waited and opened another kit and tried again, still with no success. He finally stopped because he was afraid that I would get a hematoma. I am going to go back in a couple of weeks. You can feel my port from the outside. It is in the right place. Have any of you ever experienced this before?????

Thanks, I am feeling a little down right now.:cry

Im not sure that its a negative. It depends on how deep it is.

I have always been able to feel mine and now you can see it. My ribs catch on it and its really too lateral and too high. I bet in a few weeks he will be able to access it. IF not have it done under fluro as to not mess it up. All my fills are under fluro and so if need be he could scoot me over and find it that way without poking me so much.

That seems normal to me- Ive always been able to feel mine, and now I can see it. My rib cage catches it on occassion. It is now uncomfortable for me to lay on to sleep since it hits my ribs. Ha who would have thought.

I now search for low waisted pants since it is just above my natural bend/waist band.

Actually yeah! That happened to me. The first time i went in, they couldn't find my port, and they tried and tried and tried. finally they gave up and gave me xrays to make sure it hadn't moved and ends up it was south to where it originally was.

it might of moved down or its so deep in you that they can't access the hole. either way, they will find it with xrays, if they haven't done that already

good luck :P

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
