How often do you weigh?

I weigh once a week.... because that is what my doctor said to do

At least everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. And no, there is not another way to hop on the scale! :P

A couple of times a week--on Sundays and Thursdays. Sundays are my usual weigh-in day, but sometimes I'll weigh in on Thursdays just to see how I'm doing so that I can tighten things up foodwise if need be.

I weigh myself daily in the am. The scale is headed in the right direction and I love seeing the numbers go down:) I hit my first goal of getting to under 195 so I am going to switch to weighing myself 1x a week instead.

After surgery I weighed myself every week. Then I started to obsess over it and start to weigh myself every day. That got way to out of hand and I relied too much on that number. So I weighed myself once a month for a long time. Then I hit under 300 and couldn't believe that I weighed that much! I was shocked. I hadn't weighed under 300 lbs since high school! So I started to weigh every day again. More to see a number under 300!! That was probably two months ago! I still weigh every day. And every day I am shocked by the number even if I don't lose. I'm still shocked. It's like I don't believe I've lost this much, and weigh less than 300 lbs! lol.

Also you will have stalls! They SUCK! Are no fun. Don't get discouraged. Instead of checking your weight..measure yourself. Every time that I have stalled I've dropped inches like crazy! I was so confused during my first stall because I wasn't losing any weight but my clothes was still getting smaller. They tell you you'll stall, but they don't tell you (at least they didn't me) that when I stall I'll still lose inches. lol.

I weigh daily, however, It only counts on Mondays. I like the accountability. I do not stress if the number does not move on the scale. I know my body is adjusting to the weight loss and it will start moving when its ready.

I agree I am 3 weeks pre op going on 4 and I hit a plateau, but I am still losing inches although it does not show on the scale. I am trying not to get discourage, maybe because I read there are so many others like me.

At first, every day / every other day.

My surgeon said I should weigh once every two weeks because it's NOT about immediate / short term weight loss, it's about LONG term weight loss.

A lot of people get overly upset if they gain one or two pounds, but they don't seem to understand that a lot of things can make you "gain" weight. Examples would be if you have a full bladder, if you've not recently had a bowel movement, Water weight, hormones, having your menstrual cycle.

In conclusion, I don't really think it's beneficial to weigh too often.

I weigh daily in the morning, and sometimes at night.

I weigh once daily first thing in the morning and log it into a spreadsheet. I only actually "count" a once a week weight on Fridays. I also don't let it get to me if the daily weight isn't what I want it to be, I'm really watching more week to week and month to month. For me, it's a daily reminder of my goals and sets me up for success to reach them by keeping it first and foremost in my mind.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
