Microsoft Developing A Bra That Helps Stop Stress Eating

Recommended Posts

OMG.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/04/tech/innovation/microsoft-smart-bra/

I also posted this in the Lounge. I can't find the WLS News forum anymore.

Here's the story highlights:

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Researchers developed a bra prototype with sensors to monitor a woman's emotional state
  • The bra could send alerts to the wearer's phone to combat overeating

I'm waiting for v. 3.0.

Seriously, this is goofy. I heard about this on the news. The battery runs down after 4 hours.

Technically, they didn't gear it towards women only, but women just happen to wear under clothing where the app needs to be. Personally, I think a shock type collar with an invisable fence around the kitchen would work better ;)

Yeah, you beat me to it. They have those humane shock collars now that, instead of sending electrical currents, spray you in the face with the scent of skunk ass. That would surely kill a person's need to graze...at least temporarily.

I was thinking that a good jaw wiring would be a good start.

Probably cheaper than a sleeve surgery. Less chance of a leak. But someone would find a way to eat around it.....I think I could stick donuts in my vitamix and drink them through a straw.

If it were April 1st... i would call bogus on it. LOL

At first I thought it said it would send a message to her phone to call her... you know, sorta like a monitored alarm system when the call center calls you back when it goes off to see if you are okay... We could set up a call center off shore and they call you to talk you out of it... "butter, everything is going to be fine, just put down the donut... and slowly back away"

I kinda like the shock or skunk ass collar idea too, but then I would never get enough Water in either....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
