Stuck After Taking A Vitamin

Recommended Posts

I was visiting my daughter forgot my Vitamins so took one of hers and it got stuck. I can tell I'm still irritated from it as I cannot eat anything solid and first thing in the morning even liquid is hard. I live 3 1/2 hours from my doctor so I was hoping for any suggestions.

There is no guarantee this will work or even help, but once I got stuck on a Vitamin and drinking hot tea seemed to dissolve it enough to let it pass through.

Maybe some hot tea? Or coffee? Or even hot Water?

After you get unstuck, I would go on liquids the rest of the day to give your stomach a chance to calm and unswell.

Good luck!

Lately I have been having stuck feeling with my 22 pills a day. Some days go down easy other day like Thanksgiving morning got the turkey in oven then started taking the six or seven I take about 9am they put a pressure in my chest . I started sliming and then started like dry heaving. It was like spasms in my stomach. No pills came up. But felt so bad after awhile I fell asleep and after waking up got up and felt fine finished getting dinner ready. Ate fine not much but no stuck problems at least not til later.

Hope you get chewable or dissolvable or liquid vit pills. For me they work the best. Good luck.

Oh dear, so sorry. I fear this -- just found a brand at CVS for fish oils called "Half the size." Hoping those will work for me as I need the fish oils for arthritic pain. Cannot do Tylenol now -- the oblong shape is no good. I read on some one's post about flapping your left elbow like a crazy chicken dance and how that can help. I have no idea but thought I'd put it out there. Best wishes to you!

I actually just found adult strength liquid acetaminophen (Tylenol) at CVS. It's the only place I've seen it so I bought a couple bottles of it to have on hand.

Thank you all so much. I usually have my chewables but I had forgotten them and didn't want to miss which I know now to miss is better. So far coffee has helped and warm Water. I remembered nothing bigger than your pinky nail which it was a little bigger but solid which I had coffee with figuring it would help dissolve. Lesson learned the hard way.

On a "stuck" feeling I jump up and down, like on a pogo stick. It does work for me. Look at it like a stuck toilet bowl. If you add any liquds what happens, it over flows. But if you plunge the bowl it goes down. So I tried the jumping and down methods, sometime 10-15 jumps and it appears to give me instant relief.

The hot tea could possibly melt the obstruction.

Best wishes and keep the faith.

I never thought to jump up and down. Though I'm feeling much better I am going to keep that in mind if I get stuck again.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
