Sorry I have missed the planks. Been stuck in offices, airports and 18+ hour days. Was meant to make it home tonight, but DFW airport is shut down so will be stuck in Atlanta :( But here's something to make you smile.

Hahaha too cute, GG!

I have a question. Does planking bother anyone's lower back? Mine starts to ache after a bit.

I am up to 25s, it is so not as easy as it sounds, once my arms start quivering it's all over.

As much as I can stare at the top photo for hours, I do have to say her form could improve a little. She is hyperextending her lower back in that position. She will get lower back pain that way. Instead she should stabilize her core better, perhaps some more pelvic tilt (no dirty remarks, resist...lol). If you are experiencing ache in lower back from planking, try the eliminate the concavity seen in the picture of the naked woman.

The only place we have carpet is my son's bedroom so that's become the official plank spot. Tonight 1 of our 2 dogs joined and was attempting to clean out the boy child's ears while he was planking....I cannot laugh and plank. Period.

Yesterday did 35s plank plus 2 10s side planks (could never do them AT ALL before so 10s seemed like an eternity) and bridged for 30s. Today will be my rest day as I have an early appt. and then work.

When I started planking last month, my back was hurting & I asked my trainer to watch me do it & check my form. He said that I had my butt too high in the air & that lowering it would take the strain off my back. My problem is that I am still pretty big, so in order for my butt to be low enough & my back to be straight, my belly is only an inch or two from the floor. I see what Fiddle is saying about the nekky girl above hyperextending her back, but I still wish there was that much air between the floor & my belly!

actually, I was like the elephant on my 3rd set of hand stand push-ups last night (around number 55 out of 60). Head slumped onto ground. Lol.

We had to do 3 rounds:

15 215# deadlifts (165 for me due to back issues)

20 hand stand push-ups

30 pull-ups

45 double unders

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
