My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal

OMG that looks like heaven!! I love me some sea food all the time :)

However I think the shrimp might have made me swell some. I had puffy eyes this morning. But I'm not sure tho. I'll have to try shrimp again next week and see if it happens again.

Oh and my almost 3 year old ate a whole zucchini boat to himself. That must mean something!!! lol

New Years Eve dinner with the family! Ordered off the steak sides menu (Seafood Oscar) and my mom gave me a bit of her prime rib. Mmmm but filling! Ate one asparagus spear, two scallops and about 35g of prime rib. Feel bad for not touching my shrimp! Oh well, lots of left overs.

This is a much healthier pizza option. Low carb/high Fiber tortilla, 1/4 cup pizza sauce, 1/4 cup cheese, turkey pepperoni. I'm loving it!!

I love this thread. Once my food isn't puréed, I will definitely contribute! The pizza looks great.

Our dinner tonight. pizza toppings minus crust. Surprisingly filling but not as low dal as some other options. I don't care. Enjoyed it thoroughly and logged it in MFP as best I could.

I should have just made my own pizza. Even without the crust it was too many dang calories. Not worth it on a regular basis. Too much cheese basically and not enough meat.

Maybe you can answer a question for me about beef and Indian food gamergirl! I would expect that if I went to India, (which I very much hope to do), that I would not see beef anywhere on the menu. That's pretty typical with most Indian restaurants I go to here in the Seattle area as well, but our favorite place serves beef too and that always puzzled me. Is beef just an adaptation some Indians living here have made to their diet if it is not a religious restriction for them, or do you think I would see beef curry etc in certain areas of India as well?

It's very regional. Assamese and Bengali people eat beef. Probably other regions too. Also lots of more secular people from all over eat it. A few years ago you almost never saw pork on the menu, but it is now easy to find as well.

Hi, Indians are majority Hindus by religion. Strict followers are vegetarians, and beef would be definite no no.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
