I'm on day three as well it is rough but yesterday I tricked my brain I put my Protein Shake a sugar free Jello and my bowl of chicken broth in front of me for lunch at work and amazingly I almost didn't finish the Soup and I felt full. .. I guess when I cooked normally I always had more then one thing to go with what ever meat we were eating so my head converted that like wow there's more even tho my lunch was under 200 calories. Stay strong journal about it I write down what I eat then I write how I'm feeling about it. My surgery is the 22nd good luck my dear

T-48 hours. I'm refusing to cook or fix any food for my family till after surgery. The temptation to taste is too strong. Hopefully, it will be easier after surgery. It stinks we have to go into bariatric surgery starving.

My date is Jan. 9th! I'm really excited! Looking for others around the same time to support during our journey.

How are you feeling today? I'm much better

I had surgery on the 9th. I'm feeling pretty good today. I did lap band last yr and drop 50 of the 100 I wanted to lose. Then had some problems and removed it dec 4. So had gastric on Jan 9. Smell is very sensitive and headache daily but easing up. I encourage y'all to have adult Tylenol liquids ready and waiting. The prescription liquid makes you dizzy, nausea and just yuk. Doc said Tylenol is better for the pain after day 3 anyway, . Good luck to those that are getting ready

Let me ask you guys a question. So, has anyone regretted signing up for this journey? I'm beginning to. I'm 2 days away from my surgery, on a 14 day liquid diet, and all I want is a thick juicy cheeseburger. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm making the right decision. Is this normal?!?!? Help!!

It's very normal. To be honest I was ready to get off the gurney and run but thought that I have been trying to lose weight for a year and only managed 15 lbs. I needed another tool.

Thanks. I'm losing weight being on this bird diet bit it's not a way of life. I can't live on broth and Jello. I know I'll never be able to sit down and eat an entire entree of General Tsao chicken again and lose weight, but it sure does sound good. I'm just skeptical because I'm not sure ANYTHING can curve my appetite. But thanks for your encouraging words.

You're talking to someone who could sit down and eat 6 double cheeseburgers without skipping a beat. I'm just afraid it won't work with my appetite. I'm scared I'll still be "starving."

Jessie, I am with you... I had to fast this morning, I mean skip my delicious shake, to have blood work done again. On the way home I would have traded my car for a cheeseburger! I'm hungry darn it! Is this how we will feel after surgery?? I don't want to spend my life dreaming about food. Will we ever feel satisfied again? I'm not changing my mind, but my surgery is the 20th and I wonder if I'll make it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
