Does anyone else use the app My Fitness Pal for tracking Protein and food? My nut suggested it yesterday and it's pretty cool. I'm getting more protein than I had thought. Here's a typical day on the full liquid diet: Light yoplait banana yogurt w vanilla protein powder(took 45 mins to eat) 4 oz Protein Shake (milk+unjury+carnation) 1/2 cup cream of chic Soup w Protein Powder 1/2 cup FF cottage cheese 1/2 cup cream of chic soup w protein powder DQ sugar free Fudgesicle (yummy!!) Between eating every two hours and trying to get the Water in between food and then the calcium chews and Vitamins I feel like I'm always trying to get something down! But I was down 15 lbs at my first week follow up!! Yay!! OMG that pain Syrup in the hospital was awful! I had to plug my nose to get it down. Good news was the prescription I filled after discharge had some cherry flavor and wasn't quite as bad.

I'm on there. Aprilgilley is my user name

The nausea is the worse. Are they giving you Zoloft for it? For me the day after surgery I was super tired and queasy. The walking is great! I'm going to go do that now on a rainy afternoon in NYC. Here's some motivation I finally started losing some weight 10 pounds so far! Keep up the good work super fab!

Just finished all of my pre op tests. OMG the barium stuff is horrid and the test where they have to test your oxygen in your blood..... I felt it in my nostrils. It was awful. But it's done and now is my surgery. I'm ready for the 28th!!!

SJ, I'm so happy you're doing good. I can't believe I got nothing for pain until after I woke up in recovery. Sorry your roommate's people are so inconsiderate. Today was another bad one for me, but I'm sure yours will be good. Been thinking about u and happy ur raring to go

The second I went to my first consult I downloaded this app. That was on December 30th. Starting weight was 326. Today I am 296. It really put into perspective what I put in my mouth and taught me to make better choices. I've put myself on 1200 calories and am exercising. Such a big help since my insurance doesn't require nutritional classes. I highly recommend it to ANYONE pre-op or post!!

SJ! Yay! Well, yay for you. Not your noisy neighbor's guests. Can you say anything to the nurse? Maybe just tell them off yourself? Lol.

Glad to hear you're out and feeling alright! Wahoo!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
