I'm doing good! The first night was horrible for me. I'm not gonna lie. But the next day I woke up and it was so much better! Never had a ton of pain. Took the meds when I got home at night. If I had a pain here or there I took Tylenol. I haven't really found anything I can tolerate which is a blessing. Just trying to get my liquids and protein! It's awesome! You will do great!!

That's awesome! I'm just nervous about being put to sleep. This will be my first time having any major surgery. Honestly I can't wait! I've heard about the crazy trapped gas stories too! I'm praying for nothing but success! I'm glad you are coming along greatly! I'm starting my 2 week diet today and I heard that's just loads of fun!! Lol

I was terrified of the gas pain! I never had any at all! I had some vomiting the first night which might have gotten all the air out but no gas pains like I was scared of! It's been easy peasy since that first night!

Wow...I'm so amazed at the list of things ppl have to do before they get approved. I'm so happy my ins company didn't ask for all of that. Also I'm in Stockbridge.

Reallly wish insurance would do away with the 6 months process/ wait :-(

I'm in Forest Park. I haven't been sleeved yet. My last group appointment is this Wednesday and I should get my clearance from the doctor so my paperwork can be submitted to insurance company. I was told I could be sleeved before the month is out or the first of January.

Hello Ga. Peaches!!! I am now on the loser bench. I was sleeved on the 17. I must be honest and say the pain was so bad and still is that I was starting to regret I had done this to myself. I've had two c sections and the sleeve was worst. On the pre op I had lost 15 pounds, which was GOOD I cheated a little on that. I would have one small salad with chicken and light dressing from chick fil a, but still had my Protein Shake twice a day. For those that are still waiting to get sleeved, walking does help move the gas out. You may only burp instead of passing gas, so brace yourself when you burp because even that small burp is going to hurt. Everyone is different but this is major surgery so there will be pain. Don't go in thinking I'm going to bounce back once I wake up in recovery.

Good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
