Men Who Had/sought To Have Single Incision (Sils) Surgery

I previously posted this in the wrong forum. Here it is again, hopefully in the right place!

I just joined Bariatric Pal today! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I'd like to hear from men who have had single incision sleeve gastrectomy. I hope to have my surgery in January or February, with one of the few practices in the metro New York area that performs SILS.

I'm really concerned that I won't be eligible for SILS. The vast majority of patients who have this surgery are women, and apparently the single incision approach is more difficult to perform on men. I tend to get hypertrophic, hyperpigmented scars, so I want as few new holes as possible!

I'd appreciate hearing from guys who can tell me what the evaluation process was like. I'd also like to hear from men who were not cleared for SILS, so I can understand what I might be up against.

Thanks much!

Simon
