I had my band put in on 12 August, I've lost 34 pounds and the doctor decided to put a fill in this afternoon, because I've only lost 1 pound in the last 3 weeks. I was so worried it would hurt or well, I didn't know how it would feel. It was nothing!!!!!!!!! Ok, so having a needle stuck into your stomach is not normal, but it felt like a soft pinch. The weirdest part was when he pulled the needle out; he said I would feel a slight pulling sensation, slight my Aunt Fanny!!! It felt like my bellybutton was being pulled out, although there was no pain, it was a sensation I had never felt before and that is saying something for a 52 year old! I go back in a month, sot see if I've kept up with the 1-2 pounds a week. I'm ready to hang out at the gym everyday and become LESS of a person, LOL.

Hi Dewey, thanks for a great post. I look forward to being a lesser person as well. And thanks for insight into fill world. My first potential one is 12/2. This whole thing is pretty exciting, I have to say! And 34 pounds -- yee ha! That is great.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
