I'm Overweight! Let's Celebrate!

Recommended Posts

My next milestone is to reach my halfway mark -- which comes in 7.5 lbs. At that point, I'll have lost 60.5 and have 60.5 to lose.

After that, I'll have 26 (and some change) to lose before entering the golden gates of "Onederland" -- my next goal.

My NUT said that I came down an obesity level at my last appointment, but I didn't pay good attention. I'll have to look up the BMI categories...

Edited to add: I found it! So according to this, I started at Class III (42) and am now Class I (34.4). Next up: figuring out how far to "overweight."

Edited to add2: Well, that sucks. I have to weigh 195 to be "overweight," so that will have to be my THIRD goal!!!

< 18.5 underweight

18.5–24.9 normal weight

25.0–29.9 overweight

30.0–34.9 class I obesity

35.0–39.9 class II obesity

≥ 40.0 class III obesity

But what's truly amazing about you is that you're barely a few weeks out and you're already at almost half of your excess weight lost because you worked it before the sleeve too. And now you're a walking machine! That's very impressive progress hun.

Woot Woot! that's great!

I just hit my 2nd major milestone......weighing less than my hubby........by 1 pound LOL My next major milestone will be 153 a.k.a. overweight.........woo hoo, 23 pounds to go.....

I have set my goal weight to be 150 (which may actually be too low I don't yet know) and it's hard for me to believe that I am so close to it. You and I were sleeved close together (August 2nd for me) so we're both doing well! You pat me on the back, and I'll pat you on the back, okay? :)

I too was thrilled to reach the overweight mark. Being normal is about 18 pounds away. Doesn't sound like a lot but I haven't lost an ounce in 2 months. I admit this is my own doing since night time snacking has snuck back into my life. I am going to try to have my Protein drink (EAS at only 100 calories for 17 grams of protein) and possibly a greek yogurt for night time Snacks. I do not know why this is such a hard time for me to curb my cravings for sliders.

Anyway my next goal is to get in the 140s. I have not been that weight in about 20 years. I know I can do it. I am hoping changing up my excerise (just started c25k) will give me the kick in the pants I need.

it's funny how you see the 18 lbs you still have to go, and I see the 71 lbs your ticker tells me you've lost :) But yeah, I understand the siren song of the sliders. Your c25k plan sounds like a good one. There's a wonderful thread in the fitness forum where folks are doing it together.

Congrats!!!

I have 8lbs to go until I am only overweight! I can't wait!

Then I will only have 10 more pounds to lose to reach 100lbs lost! Hope to get there by my 6 month anniversay in January.

100 lbs in six months would be amazing. As would 80 or 90 so success either way!

I know I am looking at the "glass half empty" side of things gamergirl. My husband often says this about me too. I am so proud of the 71 pounds lost. It is like a dream come true to me and something I thought I couldnt do. I think some of my negativety is concern about what my surgeon will say at my next appointment if I haven't lost any weight in 3 months which seems like a distinct possibility.

Thanks for the c25k tip I have spent days reading it recently and think runners are awesome. I have seen you over there too and hope it will help with my willpower to not snack too much at night.

Made the overweight club too recently from a BMI of 45. It does feel good but would still like to get to "normal" though I can't remember the last time I was in that range, probably at college. I am now the lowest weight I have been in 25-30 years. About 30lbs to lose to qualify as normal which I suspect will be a lot harder than the last 110lbs.

Lowest in 25-30 years! What a great achievement. Good for you!

Thanks, makes me wish I had not stalled for three years trying diets before taking the plunge and having WLS. Still if I had gone for it three years ago would have probably ended up with the band and it seems like the sleeve is turning out to be a great option for me as reminds me strongly when I try to do the wrong thing. Just hope I am still saying that in a couple of years time.

Exactly the same for me. I too considered the band several years ago and then decided to keep trying and of course, ended up heavier than before. Tell you what, the universe unfolds the way it should.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
