Congrats Debbie! You look fab! And yes, just like you I was doubting myself too because the scale wasn't moving. But I was losing inches and lost 4 dress sizes. I was banded on August 7th. First fill on September 20th (5cc's). Second fill November 8th (2cc's) which was 9 days ago. And let me tell you, when you reach a sweet spot, the weight just melts off. I'm eating a cup or less every meal. And from Friday until the following Wednesday I lost 5 pounds! I usually don't weigh at home, but I had another doctors appointment on Wednesday, so I was shocked that the scale moved so much, so soon after the last fill. I'm glad you're having success now also. It does take time, but we can't give up, we have dedicated ourselves to a healthy life style change, so I know we're also getting healthier on the inside, even if the scales stall. Best wishes :)

So inspiring -- thanks for the blog! I did manage to get a friend to do my measurements prior to surgery and take a couple of photos; that will be good to have when I need a boost. You look terrific!

my 1st non-scale victory today!! http://www.debbieposton.com/my-1st-nsv-non-scale-victory/ let me know what you think and what NSV you've had?

I can see the link on my iPad for some reason but my favorite NSV was one say about 8 months post op I needed to adjust the seat in my car to reach the peddles. I am tall and always had to have the seat as far back as it would go to accommodate my 77" hips!!! As I lost the weight my butt shrank and I would have to adjust the seat!!

I get my 2nd fill on Thursday, I am hoping it will help get me where I stay satisfied longer but obviously my band and me are doing our jobs even if the scale isn't doing its job...lol But I know if will I just have to be patient.

It is awesome to have this place to come talk to all my fellow bandsters to vent to or share my stories with or just look for advice...So THANK YOU so much for being here with me!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair. Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end. That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
