Exciting new changes are coming to VerticalSleeveTalk

Recommended Posts

Dear Member,

Exciting new changes are coming to VerticalSleeveTalk.com! In a few days, VerticalSleeveTalk.com and the other Weight Loss Surgery Boards (WLSBoards) will join together and transition to BariatricPal.com! We’re excited to be leading the movement to support weight loss and health for all members of the weight loss surgery community!

WLSBoards is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, and we are planning to make the next ten years even better. That’s why we’re combining the WLSBoards into a single, more powerful force. Each of us may choose different types of weight loss surgery as our own tools for weight loss, but ultimately, we all have the common goal of fighting obesity. BariatricPal.com will be better able to serve the weight loss surgery community by advocating for our rights as a unified voice.

BariatricPal.com has the same great discussion forums as VerticalSleeveTalk.com and all of the other social media options, such as blogs, private messages and photo galleries, which you know and love from VerticalSleeveTalk.com. In addition to the Gastric Sleeve forums that you’re used to, BariatricPal.com will have new forums for all of the weight loss surgeries. You’ll also love our all-new weight loss surgery resource section with information on choosing a weight loss surgery, the weight loss surgery diets, choosing a surgeon and so much more!

Successful weight loss surgery is a big effort, and BariatricPal.com is designed to support your new healthy lifestyle. The community and information are always available on the site and using our new BariatricPal.com mobile apps. BariatricPal.com will let you track your diet and exercise to keep your weight loss and nutrition on track. Other ways to join the movement are to meet your BariatricPal.com friends in person, and to track your goals.

The launch of BariatricPal.com is hassle-free for you. Your VerticalSleeveTalk.com account and profile will automatically be transferred to BariatricPal.com.

We’re very excited about leading the charge against obesity, and we hope you are, too! Stay tuned for more information about the changeover to BariatricPal.com! At the world’s largest weight loss surgery hangout, it’s cool to be a loser!

So please Enlightened me Alex.. In the last several days there have been new people here that do not have the sleeve.. They have the bypass. When I asked one about why she chose a sleeve forum she told me well I have the bariatric pal app and this is what it gave me (this forum)

So are we all intermixing now? Inquiring minds (me) want to know..

That was just for test purposes. They ended up here because we were required to use a live site during our app approval process.

There will be completely separated areas for each surgery on BariatricPal.

The Gastric Sleeve Forums, blogs and photos will be a spitting image of VerticalSleeveTalk.

There will be a general discussion forum where everyone can intermingle.

Ok but in the future, keep me let me know these things! Geeze! :P

Alex, thank you so much for setting up and maintaining this and the other sites for all these years! I really appreciate all of the time and effort you've put in, without remuneration, just to help those coming along later.

Glad to hear we will still have separate areas and a group area. I'm interested in seeing how vets with other surgery types are faring as the years go by.

Will there still be a chat room? If so, is for all wls or still a separate area for each type of surgery?

The changes sound interesting.

It'll be the exact same app but available under a different name, BariatricPal.

So will all of these forums carry over to the bariatric pal? Will there be separate sections for what kind of surgery you had?

Hi Alex, love the site but have a couple suggestions or ideas (they are all related).

  1. I think that when you press forum home it should take you to the general weight loss area and not lapband area.
  2. When you leave chat, don't have it take you to the lapband forum.

Chat available on phone app. Awesome.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
