I need to quit drifting into the Lapband forum as well. This thread, along with "her" are pissing me off: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/283027-no-more-lap-bands-in-my-area/

Talk about uninformed and judgmental.

Lol Amanda!! Just saw it... Um first off they don't want to do them because of all the aftercare?

Yep those Drs. hate when they have follow up appointments! they hate charging and making that money continuously..

And as far as she who will not be mentioned?

Delusional drivel...

That's the thread that set me off yesterday. I don't know why it rubbed me wrong. Not the subject of conversation....it was just the attitude. Good thing none of us around here have crappy attitudes.

Reading "her" post on that thread, my head started to detach from my neck. Then it nearly popped off.

The statement about "Bad doctors and Bad patients" was the kicker for me. OMG

If I had the band? I'd be making an appointment right now AT THIS MINUTE to convert to ANYTHING! Just so I didn't have to be in the same forum as that delusional tyrant of anti Americanism and sound medical advice.

Wtf is wrong with that person. I mean I get its her opinion but come on does she trally believe it?!?! No one can even ask her a question without her "blocking "them bc they are dumb. Wonder why she is even there means she's a damn "dr" herself. Must be horrible to be around so many inferior people!! Gah I pray this gets fixed soon.!!! ;)

Let's face it - I thought the sleeve was insane until after six months of lurking on LBT I saw how many revisions and miserable people were there. A procedure with a massive complication rate and shoddy % EWL stats is being phased out by the market because surgeons and patients are doing research? Say it ain't so!!

And I'm sick of the "sleeves stretch" rhetoric. Yes, they stretch. MINUTELY and IF YOU MAKE THEM STRETCH. Ya know, with work, with regular overeating to the point of pain over a long period of time. But people act as if it becomes a damn football field if you slip up twice. Hardly the case.

Anyway, there's enough people on the sleeve forums I want to go away, so I don't venture into other forums as a general rule. I try to limit the stupid in my life.

Yes the sleeve stretch!! They all believe that over there (could they actually be listening and believing part of what this lunatic is laying down?)

the sleeve will relax.. Thank god, because you couldn't live your life with it being as small as it is in the first months.. It can stretch a bit more if you continuously stuff day after day after day all day long.. BUT even if it say, doubles?

Let's see where's gamergirl when I need her for math?? :P

85% cut out 15% left.. So if 15% doubles?? OMG 30% of your original size???

Oh the terror!!! :P

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
