So excited, I had my post op visit today and got cleared for purees. I came straihht home and blended up some Soup w plain Unjury. 'Ate' about 2-3 tbls and haven't wanted anything other than Water all day. This is the first time since the second day after surgery that I haven't gotten all my Protein in. I feel like if I have any thing else I will burst! And I ate HOURS ago... well...at least I'm finally not hungry! Hmf...

Enjoy the feeling of being full for now...this is really where the work begins...there is going to be times in the near future that you will have hunger again...You will have to do the head thing and figure out if it is real or your mind fooling you into thinking you are hungry.....

I have discovered that as soon as I think I have this figured out something new and unexpected comes along and I have to deal with my head.....

I am very happy I made this choice and I bet you are too.....Just keep working it girl...Your well on your way!!!!!

I am waiting for this feeling... I still feel like a bottomless pit that could eat anything. I'm sure it's just all in my head, but it's still driving me nuts! Definitely enjoy the full feeling. You will get there eventually. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
