Cool. Where is that?

I'm actually in Tarkington Prairie which is about 40 miles north of Baytown. Between Dayton and Cleveland. Just drive till you're lost in the woods, turn right, go past the second broken mailbox and you're there.

Okay, I know less now but I'm sure I drove through some of those. Ha!

Holy Schnikies!! I finally was able to make it back on the page! Why would you mess with something that isn't broken? Geez.

Anyway, I have been pretty active these last few days. I am now at 40.25 miles for the month. My wife and I have been walking every night and having a good time. We are taking off tonight's walk though...almost time for the LSU vs Alabama game. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I'm 2 months post op and am now going to Curves 3 x a week and Zumba twice a week, but what I want to do is step aerobics at home in addition to what I've been doing. It may sound silly to some but it's big to me, I started a couple of days ago with 5 mins and I was so winded I could hardly breath, so my goal will be to add a minute to each day and be at 30 mins by the end of the month, I did 7 today, so I need to catch up so I will do 9 tomorrow.

Okay, THAT was *fun* trying to find this thread. Sheesh!

I'm up to 69 miles for the month, but more importantly, I FINALLY was able to try the 1.5 hour spin class. It's offered every Sat. am but only ONE Sat. a month it's taught by my favorite instructor. So finally made it and did much better than I thought I would. It was a different kind of intensity than the 1 hour long class, but still fairly brutal. The one thing that I didn't like was that I was really tired the rest of the day. It was from 7-8:30am and I really just wanted to come home and nap. lol. But that didn't happen, of course, and so I kept thinking...I thought exercise was supossed to GIVE you energy, not take it away! HA!

So, I've rode a total of 25 miles this week which I think brings me up to 30 for the month. I also did the first day of the C25K app yesterday and I lived to tell about it!

OMG, I can believe that I finally was able to get back on this site. What a mess. Anyhow, I've been walking everyday, trying to get up to the 3 strength training sessions in each week even though work is conspiring against me! So far- MTD-38 miles 3 sessions, will try harder!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
