You All Are So Amazing And Doing Fantastic With Your Weight Loss. I Have Had Some Problems With My Health And Have Not Been Able To Lose Anything In A Few Months. I Had Problems With My Esophogus And Had To Be Stretched Last Week. No Matter What I Ate Or Drank 90% Of The Time It Would All Come Back Up. The Only Things That Stayed Down Were Fattening Stuff, But Of Course!! Finally I Get To Get A Fill, It's Been 3 Months. I Have Only Lost 22lbs In 6 Months, But I Have Lost A Lot Of Inches And Gone Down 3 Sizes. It's Been A Weird Rollercoaster For Me, Sad At Times Since I Wasn't Losing And Couldn't Get Filled., I Would Read This Thread And See That Everyone Has Lost A Good Amount Of Weight And Wonder What In The World Is Wrong With Me. I Hope And Pray After This Fill, Things Will Start Moving In The Right Direction. Thanks For Listening And Good Luck To All.

No matter what it's called thanks for starting it! I've been a little too consumed with life right now. My mom suffers from Alzheimers and I take care of her 3 x wk. She still remembers me but repeats things very often. We really didn't get along all that well when I was little (she had a drinking problem) and that is when my weight issues started. First it was not eating and then later (after my brother died) it was overeating.

Sorry, don't know why I told ya'll all of that. :) Maybe I needed to vent a little. I only lost a couple of pounds last month but hey, I lost. Hopefully I can concentrate a little more on my goal this month.

Thanks ya'll for being there!!:)

Good work Steph! Your picture says it all.

Jek and Trish -- hang in there. It's not a race right?

I'm doing good. I had some intestinal 'issues' last week and didn't eat hardly a thing for a few days. Somehow it got me back on track and I feel restricted again...or at least I'm not blowing it off and eating more once restrcition subsides. Geez, 6 months! I think I expected to look radically different by now. Life gets in the way!

Hey -- how about we list our top 3/5/however many "things we've learned in the first 6 months of banding" Anyone? Anyone? I'll go first.

1) I still have to watch what I eat -- although if it's hard Protein the band tells you when enough is enough. Ice cream?...not so much.

2) Sometimes I still want to binge and stuff myself. The urge remains unfortunately, but the capacity just ain't there.

3) I never have golfball/PB issuses with people who know I'm banded. It is always with people who don't know. It's like LapBandLaw or something. I've learned you can quickly say "I need to go grab a tissue/glass of water/tampon" and bolt, and nobody really cares. Unless you're gone a really long time in which case, go for the "female problems" defense.

1. My band has an attitude, if it doesn't want chicken it won't let me eat it but if it wants chicken tomorrow it lets it through just fine.

2. My band isn't a miracle, this is still going to take time and a lot of work.

3. I have to get fills for it to work, it isn't giving in to admit I need one.

4. A size 16 at one store is NOT the same as a 16 at the next lol :D

I've learned...

  • that blueberry NutriGrain bars are really good. They make a great Breakfast & defend against fast food if they live in my purse.
  • to never go shopping with my mother. I wind up spending too much money.
  • that when my left shoulder joint starts hurting, I should stop eating.
  • that the scale will continue moving in the right direction, as long as I don't give up.

Oh and also, I've learned what One-derland looks like. I finally made it in!

Everybody is hanging in there and I am so proud of our stick-to-it-ness! We have had success because we realized we had to work with this baby!

Thanks for sharing your resolutions, frustrations and even revelations! Isn't this what this forum is supposed to be about??? While we are losing we have a chance to figure out what happened and maybe even why we are the size we are (or were) - whether it was emotional, medical or physical, and now move forward.

I was happy to lose 6 pounds last month but I sure wish it was moving faster. I feel so comfortable in my clothes and with my size that I worry that I won't continue to be motivated to keep losing.

I will try to find some before and after pictures. Loading them onto the website though is another thing! I am not that technically savvy so it might take a while.

Hang in there gals, you are all doing terrific no matter how little or much you have lost!!!

What a ride guys, I had the fill last Monday and I lost 12 lbs in 9 days because I couldnt eat anything, everything got stuck after just one bite! It was sooo painfull.... I actually couldn't even drink a Protein Shake today so I went in and had a partial unfill. I am now at 2.5cc instead of 3cc and I'm feeling much better! Hopefully it wasnt too much taken out, I'll update soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
