5 Days post op

My recovery has been ok, lots of gas! (TMI) so I have been doing a lot of walking and taking gas x strips. Just wondering are you suppose to be this gasy and when does it go away? And im starting to be hungry more than I thought I would, I would never eat nothing that would land me back in the hospital, but any ideas of what to try? Chkn broth is gettin boring.LOL

Are you allowed a full liquid diet or just clear? I was on full liquids the first week. I enjoyed low fat/low sugar Greek yogurt (no fruit in it). Light and fit Greek yogurt is good. They have a toasted coconut vanilla that is really good. I was also allowed cottage cheese and ricotta cheese. I mixed both with garlic salt and heated it up in the microwave. Also tomato basil soup mixed with unflavored protein powder. I was sick of the broth before I even left the hospital, so I had to get creative!

LOL so over chkn broth, I dont think im on a full diet yet but im getting close, ive just been doing liquids! Thanx for the advice im going to try tomato soup thatll be a nice change up

Not a full diet, a "full liquid" diet. It's still basically liquids, just thick liquids. Things like milk, cream soups, yogurt and pudding are usually allowed on the full liquid, but not on clear liquid. Every surgeon is different, but adding just those few extras made it much easier for me. Otherwise I would have just lived on protein drinks.

I am 5 days post op and am on a full liquid diet. I am SO SICK of dairy. I'm lactose intolerant and have been using lactaid, but I'm still majorly grossed out by milk. I would KILL for plain toast or crackers!

I probably should be on full liquid, but havent tried anything yet! Im thinking about trying sugafree jello. Im not a fan of yogart but gotta do something to take the edge of, lol

5 days post op you should be on liquid, trying to get some protein through a protein shake (or adding protein powder to stuff.) The hospital I went through thankfully gave me recipes - Even with the recipes though, I'm sooo bored w/dairy! Including yogurt and everything. I did have blended soup today, which was a good break. Tomorrow I'm going to try oatmeal. WHEE! :)

I'm just starting full liquids tomorrow... Just isopure for me for the past week. I can't believe that I'm excited for a regular protein shake... May even go crazy and add a teaspoon or two of pb2! Woohoo! Really, I'm excited, lol! Very grateful to whomever put together the huge list of protein shake recipes... There are so many that I'd like to try!

Yea ill try creme of wheat tomorrow and see what happens, im just really nervous. afraid of getting sick or anything! So your five days out too, are you real gassy? I have to take gas x strips twice a day and at night its a lil worst! Maybe the way I sleep idk.

I'm not gassy, but I have had HORRIBLE diarrhea!!! Actually had a bit of a sharting incident on my couch. God love my husband for helping me clean that up! Be careful w/the gas... because what you think is gas might end up being more as I sadly discovered. lol.
