Wow interesting subject. I'm not sure if anything like this has ever been asked!? Humm, will you be able to eat more over time?

I would do a search there just might be some information on it.

You will be able to eat a little more, but not a full "meal" like you used to. You don't really want to do that...otherwise what was the purpose of having the surgery?

Actually, at three weeks out, a meatball is probably really heavy for you. They usually have bread crumbs in them so I can see only being able to eat one.

Hey,Tampa, over here in Zephyrhills I ate 4 meatballs tonight. Weren't very big though. No spaghetti, no sauce. Had nothing to do with being in Zephyrhills. I just like writing Zephyrhills. :D

I am 11 months out and I can eat maybe 2 meatballs. I stay away from beef as much as possible. May have once a month and not much, makes my stomach hurt. Beef is hard for a regular stomach to break down. Add a Premier Protein shake to make sure you are getting the Protein needed.

Yes you will be able to eat more than one...but I found that I was pleased with eating just one. My attitude towards eating and feeling :"full" has completely changed for the better.

At a few weeks out, I did feel strange about not being able to eat like before (I was still on liquids then) but it dissipated. Over 70 lbs down since then and I feel great about having one meatball.

Wishing you the best!

What size meatball? At one of my fav restaurants in San Jose, Buy the Bucket, the meatball is the size of a baby's head. I could eat about 1.5 ounces of more solid Protein, such as meatball at three weeks out. My program didn't allow beef till after 6 weeks.

I'm 2.5 years out and I top out at 3-3.5 ounces of solid Protein with a little veggies and and a little whole grain. Last time I ate pizza, about a month ago, I ate two slices from a large pizza with hand tossed crust from Pizza Hut.

As a MexItalian' date=' I commonly make meatball tacos. Does that count as one or dos?[/quote']

One, especially if you purée it and suck it up through a taquito straw.

I hear they offer that option in Mexico or was it tacos?

I dunno. I had mine done in Texas so I got the "extra bowl of chili" option and they threw in the "unlimited donuts" feature for free..... unfortunately.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
