Get by with a little help....

Recommended Posts

Had a bad week. I dealt with some emotional baggage and some insecurity from decade ago that took its toll on me. In my depressed aftermath, I took to food. I have gotten off my schedule and track at 5 months post op. The good thing is, I realize it. Now I just need some support and encouragement from other sleevers who have been there and gotten back up. Thanks!

So sorry to hear about your tough week. I think that's going to happen to us all from time to time. As you said, since you've recognized it, that seems to be great progress compared to before, and of course, the sleeve is probably limiting the damage that you can do.

Growth is always challenging and painful isn't it? Hope you are soon on the other side of it, and as the previous poster mentioned, going back to Protein, getting rid of junk, drinking more Water, may all help you get back on track.

good luck!

This is true..There is not one of us who will not struggle now and then with the issues that helped us become addicted to food...You are a head of the game because you recognized it and now you are back on track....Great progress on your part I say!!!!!!

If we can fix our heads, we will be able to fix our bodies :) !

Thank you so much for the support! Sometimes we beat ourselves up, we need to get back to being kind to our bodies and nurturing it. I will work on it this weekend!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
