  1. Thank you so much for the support! Sometimes we beat ourselves up, we need to get back to being kind to our bodies and nurturing it. I will work on it this weekend!

  4. Had a bad week. I dealt with some emotional baggage and some insecurity from decade ago that took its toll on me. In my depressed aftermath, I took to food. I have gotten off my schedule and track at 5 months post op. The good thing is, I realize it. Now I just need some support and encouragement from other sleevers who have been there and gotten back up. Thanks!

  6. I went to my Nut Friday and we went they my eating. It turns out, my habits, overall, are very good, and I am making good progress. When she wrote it all down, my eating habits ARE a million times better than pre-surgical. Now I am beating myself up for the stalls and slips in good eating habits. I have to be nicer to myself, and I will want to feed myself with good an healthy foods in healthy amounts. I started a food diary on Calorie Count, and it's very helpful. It's all about accountability, honesty and kindness to yourself. I want to be all of those things.
  7. I am in the same boat. Just blind hunger I can't seem to get a handle on. When I plan my food, the meals are reasonable. It's slider foods I eat in a momentary lapse of sanity that's killing me. I will try to go back on OA mtg call-ins. My geography has me out of reach of regular groups. I am going to my Nutritionist Friday and hopefully get my focus back. Work and travel really put a monkey wrench in my eating schedule!
  8. I know. I shouldn't be allowed to snack- it's where all the problems start...
  9. I had the horrible pain (pulling, burning, and intense) you describe at about 10 days out. (I had to help my old golden retriever get in and out of the car & had to bend and lift to do it!) My surgeon said it was the deep stitch an it would resolve by 28days Post-op. I didn't believe him as I thought I over-did it. Thankfully, I woke up on day 26 and the pain was instantly gone. Hope you have the same !

  11. I am 10 weeks out and frustrated by a 5 week plateau. I am going to have to start working out HARDER- but I thought the weight loss would be a little more consistent during at least the first 6 months!
  12. I am so sorry to hear that! I hope u know u have support here. At least we can't turn to our old friend, food! God I miss it right now!!!
  13. Trust me, my relationship has been on the rocks for years; but now at 7 weeks post-op I am being threatened with divorce. I am slowly gaining my confidence back and my optimism, but I can't se to fix this one. I guess my weight wasn't the root of all my issues. Anyone else go thru some tough times?
  14. Surg May 9th: I lost 13 lbs in the month pre-op. SW: 183 CW: 167 Need to start exercising....

  16. Totally. I am repulsed at watching my husband shovel food away completely unaware of my new consciousness of food. I don't even want to eat out anymore!
  17. Amen- no one walks in your shoes. Do your thing & be smart!
  18. Yes- I did lose 13 pre-op, 7 in the 2 week post-op, now a stall. I feel better gearing from all of you! Thanks!!!

  20. Thanks all! The article made great sense and has me mentally calmed. Thanks for all the encouragement and support- I think I am in my old pattern of thinking - that nothing ever works! This time I have to believe it will and be Patient!!!
  21. That's why I am frustrated at only a 7 lb TOTAL weight loss in the whole 3 weeks since surgery. I just think my body wants to stay this way.
