Hi, I'm 5'8" - 5'9", depending on who is measuring me. My goal is a slim size 8, no matter what the scale says. Since I haven't had surgery yet, maybe some of you can tell me if setting a size goal, rather than weight goal, is realistic. I am solid and will weigh more than I look, so rather than not hit a goal, like 140, for example, I'd like to enjoy a size and not worry about the number of pounds. Thanks!

First of all a goal of a size 8 is unrealistic. Being solid well that is another reason why size 8 might not be who you will become. What you need to do is enjoy each day with the loss of the weight going down and allow your body to dictate to you where you will land in the end. I am 5'7" depending on who is measuring me and I take a 14 in pants and a large in shirts. I know that I will never be an 8 and really don't want to. What curves I have I hope they are still there.

You must concentrate on the journey instead of the lbs. It is a long road with ups and downs and already you are making goals that just might not happen. Please enjoy the ride and worry about what your team says....

I'm 5' 8" and wear a size 4. I'm 145 pounds.

It was not a huge struggle to get to this weight from my high of 280 pounds.

i never set a goal neither did my docs i am down over 200lbs total i have belly thigh back and butt skin but as far as my size now goes i am pretty good uk size 16 (us 14 we are 1 size up from you guys) mostly leggings and elasticated waistbands i can go as low as a 8 knitwear i like a 18 sometimes a 20 to layer under it.

if my belly skin was gone i would be much smaller in dress size but you can;t really see it in my clothes i just dont go tighter for the bulge factor lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
