tall female sleevers...

I am 5'9" wondering what my fellow tall girls set as goal weight? I am 253lbs, goal weight 170 tentatively.

I'm 5ft 10. I started at 250 and I'm aiming for about an 85lb loss... Don't want to look skeletal!

Same here...I was 170 before I had children...don't think I can be smaller than that, but I guess we shall see!!

I am 5"11 and my aim is 175. I don't want to look like a bean pole either.

I was 5'9, but somehow now 5'8 and weigh about 280. I want to aim between 170 (heaviest) to 160 (smallest).

I saw a post on this forum and a person was relatively tall and 125. WOAHHHH!! Made me think maybe I was coo-coo!!! Seems like we all are in the same ballpark.

I always thought I was 5'10" -- i used to be anyways. I think maybe being obese compressed me a bit as I aged (I'm 41). So when the surgeon's office measured me at 5'9" I was surprised. However, I went with it because it helped get my BMI to the surgery- qualifying number of 40. I'm curious to see fi when I get to a more normal weight I get that inch back ;)

ANYWAYS! I started at 289, and now I'm at 214 ish. My surgeon's goal is 150, although I picked it & they said fine; it's not like they picked it for me. If that is reasonably achievable for me, then I will actually shoot for 145 as a personal goal.

The caveat here is that if I were to get to say, 165, and find that I'm quite happy, I will make that my goal. I really just want to get to that normal BMI, and be happy and healthy.

I'm 5'9, starting weight 233, goal weight 140. My Dr. was fine with that. I know it's an ambitious goal, but I didn't go through this surgery to be just ok with a weight. I need to give this my all!! Power to the Amazon Ladies!!

I'm 5'8 and my surgeon's goal is 175 but my goal is 150 which was what I weighed in college. When I graduated from HS I was 125 and while I would love to be that skinny again, I just don't think it's realistic at my age. We'll see what happens...

I'm 5'11" and I'm shooting for 170. Willing to go a bit lower but I want to see what it is like there first.

A close friend of mine suggested 150 to me. I still think I will set my first goal at 170 and then decide if I want to lose more.

I am 5'9" and my goal is actually 169, so that I can be "average" bmi, instead of overweight. But it is so arbitrary. I will see how I feel when I make it to the loser's bench. My surgeon wouldn't set a goal for me, actually. They said there were too many factors. So, I set one for myself.

My surgeon hasn't to this point set a,goal weight for me either, but he asked where I would like to be and agreed that 170 was good weight. My NUT said I don't fit on the bmi scale anyway, so she too agreed that my goal was good. When would the surgeon set a goal weight? I am scheduled for 12/16. My last appt with surgeon is 12/12.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
