Sept 11th Sleever- weight kind of steady

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone..

I was sleeved on Sept 11th, so one month down already! I've actually been pretty lucky with no complications and healing. I have been on soft foods for about a week and it's going well. It's crazy how little food I eat before feeling full. I ate the ingredients inside 1 taco and it took me 2 hours to finish it. I have noticed though that my weight is sort of stayed stagnant for a little over a week. I was wondering if that was normal.

Here are my stats:

HW- 316

SW- 304

CW-290

I need to get in a routine for exercising so if you have any tips, let me know! Thanks :-)

I am pre-surgery, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt! :) But I remember my NUT saying eat for 15 -20 minutes, and no longer, otherwise it might become "grazing". I am wondering if others have heard this? Also, I've been told that walking every day is the best exercise for post-surgery. I have an elliptical machine that I park in front of the TV! Works for me!

Good luck!

Amy

Do a search on this site for the 3 week stall. It isn't a stall that lasts 3 weeks, but one that occurs approximately 3 weeks post op. Extremely common. Just keep following your guidelines and weigh yourself only once a week. Once a month is what I did, but I'm a little crazy. ;)

I am Sept 10th. I am on the mushie food. Sick of refried Beans, but only have a few more days before real food. I have had no complications either. Only problem is Constipation, taking stool softeners and Miralax. Not working. Only brown Water. TMI, sorry.

Otherwise, its all good.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
