Yay stacy16,

I know the broth sucks. Try to get in the Protein, it helps promote healing. I am 13 days post op and feel flawless. I am now eating pureed foods and lovin' them. You'll get here quick enough.

Welcome. You are lucky to be going through this with someone. I have told the world and all they do is ask how me daily: "How much have you lost?"

Congrats Bandstar with the successful surgery (I know its much past by now)...and its great that you already lost 33 lbs (undoubtedly more by now!!!). Hopefully you will be one of those people who lose fast. I on the other hand seem to be losing slower than I would like (though my doctor says I am doing well). I have lost about 35lbs total in 4 months and just got another fill putting me at 8cc. Yea...I know...everyone is different. Thats what I keep telling myself. Enough of this rant. My intention was just to congratulate you on everything so far Bandstar!

Thanks Gaychris72. I am still at a 33lb loss for I now feel hardly any restriction. I am not sure when I go in for a fill, but now this is the real hard part. I am hungry and can pretty much get anything down. I think my doc will fill soon enough. I just don't want to gain anything before I get filled. I, personally, think a slow weight loss is SO much better. Better for overall health, better for keeping it off and better to avoid any saggy skin. So keep it up.

Hi All:

Just sitting here thinking about tomorrow - when I am getting banded!!!! :clap2:

I've lost 12 pounds during pre-op liquids. I have a great surgeon and I'm looking forward to much success. I'm really glad to have found this thread and will keep checking in on everyone!

My partner is getting bypass in a few weeks - I just can't convince him to be banded - the idea of the port freaks him out.

But the important thing is being pro-active and on the road to health!!! ;)

Best of luck to everyone!!!!

I second Benbax. We do all love ours. Tell your partner I was SO afraid of the port, but was more afraid of having my insides re-arranged. Now, I don't even feel the port. Welcome to this thread. Let us know as soon as you can how everything went. Yay to you.

Well if you can't change his mind, I think it will be interesting to have the two different types in the same household. He will probably lose quicker yet in about a few months time you'll catch up and probably be healthier cause you lost yours slower. He also may end up with gall bladder and hair loss issues.

Good luck tomorrow.. I'm excited for you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
