Affordable Care Act

The race card was pulled throughout his campaigns.. it was all they had.. They had to have a defense against all of the other issues he had... no experience, a 2 year Jr. Senator.. who voted absent throughout his term.. He had no business experience whatsoever,, raised by communist mother and grandparents.. His own minister was and is one of most anti-white people ever... preached hate against whites for 20 years and our President says he didn't know about it.. Seems like after everything that has happned since his election the healthcare law and other things like IRS targeting conservatives, and the list goes on and on ... Some people are waking up.. Sadly if you speak out against anything this President does you are labeled as a racist.. I am sad that we are unable to communicate our concerns about the failed healthcare law without being called names.. You are right Missy anyone who uses that term against anyone who has a different opinion about the ACA and Mr. Obama is a moron...

Isn't America wonderful! You have the right to speak your mind and share your thoughts without fear of recrimination. You do not however have the right to disparage or call people names no matter who they are or what group, race, creed or sexual orientation they may identify with.

Just because one person shows their ignorance and lowers themselves by making absurd comments doesn't mean you have to do the same lest you identify with the very people you claim to disapprove of. Lets be the adults we are refrain from behaving like 5 year old's on the playground picking on and calling each other names.

Thank you

Lisa it was more than one person who pulled the race card.. and I call it like I see it.. If you are ignorant enough to call me a racists I will call you a moron.. Nobody knows me or my heart.. I don't have to defend how I feel .. believe me I have debated and discussed the so called Affordable Care Act at nauseum.. sick of it and sick of how divided our Country is now...

Back on point about Insurance issues....people should be aware of another fact, something that Insurance companies, and notably medicare pulls all the time....

They will say they will approve and cover a procedure...Obamacare boasts about this all the time, a big selling point......BUT actually paying or covering the cost is another thing entirely....

I see it everyday...patients happy that they wee told their insurance will cover/approve something, but the fine print states there is no guarantee they will cover the cost...

Medicare will cover all sorts of things, but only pay for the absolute lowest rock bottom, cheapest, inexpensive, a Chinese knock offs (ie; pacemakers, artificial knees, hips) that they can find....

Just be aware...we shall see...

I received my open enrollment paperwork yesterday and my premium is doubling. Not for sure if this is due to the Affordable Care Act, because my premium has been going up, up and away for the past several years.

How about your deductibles and copays?

I would venture to say that a doubled premium is due to the ACA. Most premiums rise at intervals, but this time around is a huge hit for most.

Let the games begin!

Just food for thought here:

http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/06/heres-a-map-of-the-countries-that-provide-universal-health-care-americas-still-not-on-it/259153/

Nearly EVERY developed country has some form of public health care already in place. I'm just sayin'

Well, my co-pay went from$30 to $42 for specialists. I see my WLS Doctor once a month. I will be paying $12 more per month. I know, it doesn't sound like a lot but $12 a month when you're on a fixed income hurts. That's $144 a year so affordable care act? I don't know. I hope WLS will still be covered. I find this all very scary.

my premium was lowered but my ded. went from 2500.00 to 3500.00, I mean who can reach that for Pete's sake. Yes I reached my ded. this year due to health probs and in/out of hospital and also I will be losing all lap band aftercare with Anthem BCBS KY, they will no longer cover any bariatric surgeries or any aftercare so I will be paying out of pocket for fills from Jan on, sux! I'm not in the green zone yet and I see my surgeon once a month still. When 2014 gets here and all gets into play, I believe everyone will be singing a different tune about ACA/Obamacare. I mean what happened to Pres Obama promising me that I get to keep my ins, NO I DIDNT, Anthem BCBS changed my policy to something totally different and I pray it covers as good as I've got now on prescrips and dr visits. If I wanted governed healthcare I'd live in Canada!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
