needed motivation

Recommended Posts

I needed some motivation this morning so i decided to look at pictures. First one was sept 2012 and the other pic is now. Its crazy how much you can change. Its been 10 months since my surgery and i don't think i have ever been this happy!!! But I'm at a place now where I'm not sure what i want my goal weight to be...does anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem and think about this often. I know in the past I remember being comfortable at 165, but I am also loosing weight different than before (if that makes any sense). I just think its one of those things that you will know when ya know.

Look at that smile -- says it all! Congratulations on your commitment and hard work. You are an inspiration -- getting banded in minus two weeks. So looking forward to success.

I do the same thing. I'm actually pretty happy where I am right now too- wearing size 14 pants and size M or L shirts. But, I'd like to get my BMI lower and I know I'll be healthier if I lose more weight. So, I figure I'll stick to my original goal and decide what to do from there once I get there.

Btw, you look amazing!!

I'm rethinking my goal weight, too. I've lost about 125. Initially, I wanted to lose 200. Now I'm not sure that will be a good or realistic weight for me. I definitely want to lose more than 125, but I think my original goal may be too small for my frame.

With bmi, and categories of obese , overweight, normal,...

Does anyone know if they factor in age? Is it just height weight?

I am concerned that what I see in the mirror is a distorted view of myself, something I have been influenced by, my entire life. Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread.. Just made me think about other factors...

Anyone?

I'm pretty sure it is just height&weight. I have never been asked age.

You look great!!!

I find myself confused on what I want my goal to be. I've always been thicker and so I thought 180, BUT that would mean 80 or so more pounds and I think losing 80 from what I am/look like now I'd be a skeleton!

I've found calculators that ask for age and I try the same info but different ages and the weight isn't different. My ideal weight for my height is 93-123 to me that's too skinny so my goal is 140. I think determining the goal is finding the weight where your comfortable in.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
