January 2007 Bandsters Excerise Challenge

Recommended Posts

Please count me in on the exercise challenge for the January bandsters. Banded on 1/9/07, bought a treadmill but haven't used it yet. Hard to get motivated :myscared: when you haven't exercised forever, but all of you have given me the incentive to get on the darn thing. So tomorrow, I shall start and get in 30 minutes every other day.....how is that for a start?

I did 25 minutes yesterday on the elliptical. Today I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on some other machine that is similar to that and 15 minutes on the treadmill.

I didn't exercise on Friday or the weekend.

I need to start up again on Monday. My mom just gave me a new piece of exercise equiptment and I am looking forward to using it!

I don't know what it is called, but you sit on it like a bike and pull on this bar. Your pelvis pushes forward. It is supposed to work out your lower body real good. Anyone know what it is called or have one? Do you like it?

That sounds like a HealthRider. My parents had one forever ago! Your forearms will get a workout holding on to that thing! :myscared:

Okay, so I finally mustered up some exercise mojo :myscared:

Yesterday I walked 25 minutes on my treadmill. Today I'm planning on doing some light weights. I have the TransFIRMer system, so I'm going to try the sculpting tape.

Hi gang,

I have managed to walk a couple of times over the weekend and just did a 2 1/2 mile walk so I am making a start. I can't get motivated to go to the basement for the elipitical but if the weather turns, I'm going down!! I do feel so much better when I do something!

Hey,

I didn't do good with my exercise this weekend, but I've started back this morning. I bought a dance game for my sons play station, it has a workout mode and I did it for 1 1/2 hours this morning. It kind of changes things up. I'm still waiting on my jazzercise dvd, hope it comes soon. Later today I'm going to walk on my treadmill for 30 mins. Good Luck this week everyone!

Hey everyone! It looks like we're all getting off to a good start. I met my goal of 3x last week. Missed my secret goal of 4x...but, I almost didn't make it to the second time. I was going with a group, and they all bailed out on me. I had to push myself to go anyway, and it went well. Which lets me know that I can go by myself, and that I am going to do this. Even if I have to drag myself - by myself. :)

So, last week I did:

Tue - 15 min. treadmill

Wed - Upper body weights and 20 min. treadmill

Fri - Upper body weights, 3 minutes bike, 30 min. treadmill

Oh, I wanted to mention that I make an effort to "move" everyday. I just need help with the focused workouts. I will say that with the 3x I went, I became "unstuck" and dropped about 6lbs. I'm definitely excited about that!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I met my exercise goal for last week. I went to the gym 6 days and worked out for 1 hour each time. I do have one concern about amount of food and burning off the calories. I am currently on mushies and consuming 500-600 cals/day. When I do the eliptical, I usually burn about 400 cals. I am worried that my metabolism will be messed up because most days, I burn off more than I take in and I know that messed up my metabolism before. I am trying to gradually increase my calories each day. Anyway, I hope everyone has a good 2nd week of exercise. Gigi

Yeah, that is what it is!

It's been a long time, but it's your typical fad piece of equipment. Having said that, anything that gets you moving is great. If you concentrate on your form, I bet you could get a pretty good back workout on that thing with the pulling motion! If I had one, I'd totally do it while I watch tv at night!

The key to success is challenging yourself. 30 min 3 times a week is a great start. As time goes on, you can improve and push yourself. I was only able to start out at about 15 min 2 times per week. So the key is to START, no matter if its 1 time per week, or whatever, we will each improve as time goes on.

I've added you to our list!

thank you so much, so many of you are doing so much that I feel a bit silly:phanvan , but this is about progress... not perfection :nervous (I keep chanting to myself). :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
