Weighed Sunday and lost 1lb, weighed today to check mid week progress and I'm exactly the same!!! Not even an ounce different.

I'm working out, eating healthy, (hardly anything because band portions are a joke with an empty band) getting in ALL my Protein, Vitamins, and Water. What gives??

Don't weigh yourself! Weight loss can be measured in other ways like inches, how your clothes fit etc. also, you only lose about 1-2 lbs a week. Sometimes you'll gain a pound or trip just because of Water retention. Throw the scale in the closet and don't focus on the number.Good luck on your journey and try not to become too frustrated!

Yes - stay off the scale! Especially when you find that your moods fluctuate with what the number says. I weigh every other week, because I cannot afford to take the scale driven roller coaster ride. If you are doing everything right, the weight is coming off....whether you see it on the scale immediately, or not.

Sunday was only 4 days ago. You can't realistically expect to lose weight every day or even every week. That's simply not how it is.

The average weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week with the band (not per day).

My personal advice is for you to weigh yourself morning and night. See what foods cause you to gain weight. Weight gain or stagnation isn't always caused by increasing body fat. Some foods heavy in sodium or carbs can cause you to retain fluids but your scale can't tell the diff between Fluid gains and body fat increases.

For me, knowing what affects my body is important, so tracking daily is important. For others, it's too complicated or too emotional to track.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
