Over 50, but under 100 to go!

Recommended Posts

I officially have just under 100 lbs to go (98 to be exact), but I wanted to post here because "officially" I fall into this category now, and it made me feel good to think that I am no longer in the 100+ category. Just seeing the "50+" makes me feel good, lol. Gotta encourage my brain any way I can!

Hi Chow

I am doing very well thank you. I am on summer vacation so I am really trying to work out and exercise every single day. I strongly recommend taking measurements because although I have not lost very much weight this past month, I have lost several inches! I have also had a plastics consult for a Tummy Tuck and my arms, but I think I'm going to wait to get under 200 pounds. I'm really hoping I can get my insurance pay for the tummy tuck. Hope you are doing well.

I have been on a stall this last week, but finally broke 30 lbs lost...in just under 3 months.

Ok, I am really curious...can you tell us how much the arm surgery is going to cost? That's the one I think I need...my arms are my big problem spot.

How long did you have to wait to exercise after surgery?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
