Definitely normal! Lol.

My surgery is scheduled for the 11th. I think 'wow! Next Friday I will be having surgery.' It's worse now that October has gotten here lol.

Ladies you don't have anything to be scared of, really. I'm 71 and just went through having my band removed in May and had RNY 9/11/13. My worst fear was the pain. When I brought this up to the doctor, he smiled at me and said "that is what pain medication is for". When he removed the band, he gave me a script for pain medication, but I gave it back on my follow up as I didn't need it. I will say, yes there will be pain, but the sooner you get up and move around you'll feel better. The nurses couldn't believe the distance I walked my first go around and I doubled it the second go around. From then on I was basically out of bed and sitting in a chair when I felt like it. You both will be okay. Follow your doctor's instructions, sip slowly and often and make sure you stay hydrated (that is more important than food at this time, also if you doctor allows it Protein to keep up your muscle mass so you won't get weak), take time in eating when you are allowed to. If you have problems, post something, ask for help. Someone will tell you what you need to do as we all want you to succeed. You'll both be okay.

Actually surgeries have never been an issue with me. Total hysterectomy and back to work in ten days. Gallbladder out back to work in two days. I've gotten chewed out for not using the pain medication. Don't actually know if I'm tough but I'm a survivor. An always my fear is the pain after surgery, and I have had many surgeries, yet afterwards, the pain isn't as bad as I feared. I can't explain it and not all of us are the same. But I do know after this surgery, the sooner you can get up and walk, the better you'll feel. I just know I felt a lot better straight up, then lying in bed. You will be okay.

Yeah, it sure is scary going from the band to RNY. That is all that is on my mind and i'm not even sure yet if I'm going to do it all together and maybe just have them take the band out. I keep going back and forth in my head... am I ready for this? I was so gung ho before I got the band.. now, i'm that the surgery is scheduled and I pushed to get it... i'm like can I handle this mentally? Like i'm just not 100% positive.... it's hour by hour for me... LOL

I'm also having the band out and a bypass on 10th October, a week today! I'm not nervous yet, I'm away this weekend so that's all I'm really thinking about at the moment. I won't be nervous until Thursday morning knowing me - and my checkin time is 4.30pm. I might be a nightmare all day, lol.

Me too. I'm back and forth. My doc said the second that band comes out- its instant weight gain! Most people get it out- gain all their weight back and then come back for the revision. So I just keep repeating that in my head when I want to back out. I want to keep off the 50 pounds I lost.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
