My surgery was 10/24/13 and I moved to Phase 2 on Friday, but I seem to be having "issues" with dairy, I have never had any lactose intolerence issues before. Has anyone heard of this or is anyone experiencing this?

I did the first 2 weeks. Fat free milk made my stomach cramp up real bad. Now I'm 5 weeks out and can drink fat free milk with no problem.

It's been pretty quiet here lately, how's everyone doing?

It has been quiet here! Well I'm certainly not a ray of sunshine...but here goes anyway.

Here is my update from my 10/21 surgery. I hate this! I get worn out soooo easily, I have had a stall- which sucks, head hunger sucks, and my pouch seems to hurt all the time. Im wondering if pain is my new "Im hungry" feeling. And funny joke on me- not a dang thing I can do about it....I chose to twist and tangle my insides so I cant even blow the program without getting terribly sick.

Yes- I DO need an attitude adjustment!!!

I just want to feel like myself again.

I hope and pray everyone is having a better experience than I am.

...Chelle

Lol Chelle. I'm not going to tell you that you need an attitude adjustment. I think over time your head and your pouch will make friends or at least learn to live with each other. And you'll be slim and have a new lease of life and blah blah blah. You know all this already. So in the meantime, it's ok to come on here and just vent! It's part of what we're here for :-)

Hit 51lbs lost (from the start of my journey in Feb). I was stuck at -49 for almost a week. Overall, things are chugging along, albeit slowly. I've been purging my closet because I'm down 1-2 sizes. One of my local WL buddies gave me 3 garbage bags full of clothes. It included a bra which fit. I was a 46DD, now I'm 42D. Of course that's where I've lost the most inches, much to my DH's disappointment. ;-) The bags of clothes also included some size 12 jeans. They look so small! My buddy assured me that I'll get there, too. IDK but these pants are too big for her 7 months post op (sleeve), so I guess she's right. We'll see. Seeing the size 12 also reminded me that when I was younger, I thought I was so fat because I wore a 12. It's funny how your perspective changes over time.

I forgot to add that I've also had to buy new underwear. Old ones were too big and I kept getting wedgies. ;-)

I love hearing all your stories.

3 weeks post op yesterday. All going well. Have lost a total of 24lb including pre-op diet. Had a couple of days stall but happy that the scale is still moving. Best feeling is not ever having to see the big numbers on the scale again.

Not sure that I can clearly differentiate between puree and softs to the degree that I should. But seem to be doing well otherwise. Reminder to self...water...water...water. Gulity not drinking enough.

Since Sunday I have had a sharp pain in my left side. Heading to the GP for an "check it out" after work today as my next surgeon appointment is not for another 2.5 weeks.

Boobs are definitely shrinking. Amazing feeling to start donating or chucking the big clothes away.

My clinic's diet basically says that soft foods are the same list as puréed, but you don't have the whiz them. It also adds whole wheat toast, deli meat, string and shredded cheese and Peanut Butter.

Six weeks post op today. 1 month check up was great down 35 pounds. I let surgeon know that my sugar levels were still high. He was kind of surprised and said to give it a few months. The diabetes clinic put me back on long acting insulin which I started on the 9th of Nov. Well guess what...almost a week and a half and I have gained 2 pounds! I am still following all the things that the program says...only new thing is insulin. I get in all my Protein and Vitamins. Calories are 600-700 and carb count under 40 grams. I am feeling totally discouraged. Even on 20 units of long acting insulin, anytime I test its still in the 250 range which means I'll have to increase dose . Have another appointment Thursday. Anyone else have any diabetes issues? I so desperately wanted to be in the 80% of people who were able to go off meds after RNY.

Anyone experiencing back pain after eating? Still on purée/soft foods and after eating very small portions my back aches like crazy. Almost crippling. My GP said the lower back and oesophagus have the same nerve endings and hence the pain. Suggestions?

Started eating regular foods tues. It's nice but these two ounces meals aren't filling me up. So can we snack between meals or is it just 3 two ounce meals a day? I'm starving!!!!!! I keep hearing different things. I see my surgeon on Tuesday but wanted to see what you guys are doing?

My clinic's plan is soft foods between 6 weeks and 3 months. At 6 weeks, I ate about 1/4 c of food 3x per day plus 2-3 Protein drinks. My Nut said to slowly increase to 1/2 c food per meal and at least 2 Protein Drinks as Snacks. So a typical day for me is 1/2 slice of wheat bread with a tsp of cream cheese and 1.5 oz lox for Breakfast, 1/2 c cottage cheese for lunch and 2-3 oz of meatballs for dinner with 1 8 oz Isopure and 1 11 oz pure Protein chocolate for two snacks..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
