Same here. Your child won't knw he difference whether he/she started today or tomorrow as the first day whenever it is, they will remember. Not if they were a day out. Look at it like this, It was the child birthday during the week and you didn't have many kids come to the party would you rather instead make it on the weekend so all kids come? So it's not really the day but celebrating the occasion.

So I had an emotional breakdown about this tonight. I was so upset that I couldn't find the right outfit for him to wear in first day of kindergarten that I just started crying my eyes out about not being here for him and not having the perfect outfit. I was a mess. This all came about after my 11 year told me she didn't want me to have the surgery because she was afraid I would die. I've been so strong through this whole process and I just let the tears flow. As I go to sleep tonight I pray to the good Lord that he watch over me and let me make it through this surgery. I can't leave my children. I'm not ready for that. Okay' date=' enough if that before I start crying again. I've got to leave for the hospital in 5 1/2,hours.[/quote']

I was a tad older when my mom had rny I remember going into her room the night before and crying my eyes out because I thought she was going to die as well. It has now been about 15 years since she had her very successful rny she has kept the weight off all these years and has been a much better mommy as a result. She was also a great support for me as I went through the process. You will be fine and when your daughter sees you loses the weigh and all you are able to do as a result she will be glad and happy for you. Prays for you today for you and your family!!!

I'm having the same issues. My surgery is Sept 3rd which happens to be the first day of school. My son is going into kindergarten and riding a bus. I'm so torn by this. I feel like I'm abandoning him on a special day. My mom will be taking him to the bus' date=' but it tears my heart apart knowing I will miss him on his first few days. I was not fortunate to get my surgery date earlier. If you could reschedule, your date I would. I'm more upset about missing him then I am nervous about the surgery. Good luck with whatever decision you make.[/quote']

:( I'm so sorry hun. I would be heartbroken if I had to make that decision. I hope your surgery went well today and that your son had a great first day!

As a mother to 3 kids. I would keep her home it's only one day. I have to take my son well idk if he must be present or not I will get his MRI results on his brain like next week. I nervous but if he must miss school so be it. Knowing what's wrong or not within us more important then just missing a day of school.

What's going on with him? My daughter has special medical needs also. She was diagnosed with biphenotypic leukemia when she was 6 months. I highly suggest starting a caringbridge.org site to let family know what's going on/let off steam. My daughter's site is www.caringbridge.org/visit/sagebaker

My son has autism but the neologist wanted to make sure his brain is developing correctly. Clear out anything else that might be wrong with him.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
