I am 10 weeks post-surgery. I have lost 59 lbs. I am still having nausea. I was taking Zofran. I figured out through a process of elimination that the Vitamins and Protein were causing the nausea. So I stopped taking them and the Zofran for two weeks. The nausea stopped. Now, I have tried everything I can to try to re-introduce the vitamins and protein back into my diet. I can get the protein in. But not the vitamins. I cannot tolerate the after taste and I end up throwing up within a half hour of taking the vitamins. It doesn't matter when I take them or if I take them with food or without. I have also tried the liquid. I just cannot seem to tolerate the chewable or liquid stuff. Can you tell me if there is a pill I can take to get the vitamins in? Please be specific with Brand, dosage and where you bought them from. Thank you!

I would talk to your doctor and see what he recommends. Every doc is different and you want to make sure you follow their rules.

With that being said you do have options. My Vitamins are powder form and go into my Protein Shake. The name is new life bariatric supplements. My doc also suggested prenatal vitamins.

Please talk to your doc. The Vitamins r a must so they have to figure something out. I also have some that can be mixed in a drink they look like crystal light but u can drink them. Ask your doc first.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
