Hi I am 37 years old

Recommended Posts

I have 3 beautiful teenage daughters and a handsome husband. I am a little nervous about my scheduled surgery on August 9, 2013 for the RNY. I began this journey in January 2013. My first weigh in was 285 lbs. I actually got approved faster than I thought. I thought it was at least a 12 month process. On May, 9, 2013 I had my gall bladder surgery. Really thought after that it would still be pushed back. BCBS Texas moved fast on this. My last weigh in was June 19, 2013 and I weigh in at 260 don't want to know my current weight until I go for pre op. I have a concern for the liquid diet. What are some of the things that I can drink for that. I know I have to get the Protein. I can't do Greek yogurt I tried it, it was nasty did not like the texture of in while eating. Any suggestions

Congrats and good luck on the upcoming surgery!!

As for your question I would really ask you doc or nut. You will soon figure out that all docs have different plans and restrictions.

For my liquid diet I drank lactose free milk with carnation instant Breakfast.< /p>

My surgery was 21 days ago. Although I can eat some solids still prefer colr ultra cold icy fluids. My taste buds have changed dratically and my sense of smell is more acute.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
