I've been on Optifast for 2 1/2 weeks now - with no cheating. That doesn't mean I haven't thought about it, but darn it I know what I'm working towards and I can do it!
I have, however, had wicked cravings and tonight was REALLY, REALLY hungry and just wasn't paying attention until my husband brought it up. It went something like this:
Husband: "Dear, what are you staring at?"
Me: "Huh?"
Husband: "Dear, stop staring."
Me: "What?"
Clinton (our 17 yr old): "Stop it, mom"
Me: "What?"
Husband: "You're staring at his dinner and it's not helping."
Me (looking up): "Who says it's not helping?"
Husband: "Go have a popsicle"
Me: " I don't want a frigging popsicle! I want a cheeseburger!" (they were eating tacos, so it wasn't really relevant)
Husband : "Then go have a cold shower." (it's stinking hot and humid here right now, which makes me headachey and cranky)
Me: "I don't want a cold shower"
Husband: "Well if you don't pick something soon I'm going to get a popsicle for you and stick it somewhere ELSE for you"
<sigh>
I didn't say I wasn't a challenge for them while on Optifast. The aspartame gives me a perpetual headache and the weather has been obnoxious for the past week. At least I have less than a week to go until surgery and at least we all got a laugh out of this tonight.
