I was thinking today how fast it seems to be going towards the day. I have preop class on the 4th then surgery on the 16th...18 more days!!

Is anyone bringing a robe to the hospital with them so their booty isn't hanging out when their up walking around?

They give you an xtra hospital gown no robe needed

Robe, slippers, clean underwear, note pad, pen and chapstick. Oh and phone charger. That's what my friend recommended. He said the note pad to write down things as you are coming out of your anaesthesia fog and chapstick because your lips are so dry afterwards.

Sorry to hear they had to move your surgery date postponing it for another week. That really sucks. We have to get a mind set preparing ourselves for the surgery, then poof we have to reinforce it for another week. My heart goes out to you. But they just moved it. Mine is scheduled at 10:00 AM on the 11th. Three days before I start the liquid diet. Good luck and onward to a newer you.

I just started my pre-op diet today. Protein Shakes, very low fat and calories, they have every meal and snack very structured on what exactly to eat and just how much. The good part is that it means surgery is getting closer. I go for my pre-op testing and such next Tuesday Sept 3rd. Lets get this going!!!

My surgery is on Sept 3rd. I've been on my 1 week pre op diet for 3 days now. For the most part, it has been okay. Surprisingly, I've had energy and have not had low blood sugar moments. That was a big concern going into this been diabetic. However, it has been extremely hard to make dinner for my family and sit here with my shake when they are eating! Yesterday, I was almost drooling over a boiled hotdog! And I don't even like boiled hot dogs! God give me strength to get through this next 4 days and beyond!

My Protein Shake is only 100 calories and 24g of protein. They said that I should have 60-80 grams of protein a day. In my final meeting with the nurse yesterday, she said that we can have 100 grams of protein. Yippie that is one more shake to round up the day for a total of 500 calories a day.....practically starving, no wonder I'm hungry! But I will get through it, because I don't want additional problems for the surgeon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
