I hit a nice mini milestone today. I am officially closer to 100 lbs than 200! I am 149 and can't believe I finally am lower than 150. I used to say when I was gaining " I'll never be bigger than..." I remember 150 was the first time. It ended when I was 267 and said " 275 is next..." at 5'2" I can't tell you how much better this direction down feels. Well now 125 is next!!! :)

A triathlon is awesome! I am so impressed! That would be so cool in my book.

It's a goal right now. I can do 6 laps in the pool so far. I will have to do 8-10 for the event. The bike is the killer for me.....8-10 miles. And 2 miles walk/run.

Whew! I'm tired already.

CONGRATS!!! Did you know that we are the same hight? I am about 10 pounds behind you (I was 158 this morning). I started out much larger than you though at 330. I wish I had my surgery before I hit 300! My goal remains at 145, I want a weight I fell I can maintain. I guess we will see what happens. I agree with you about how good going this direction feels! I live in fear of waking up and finding out I am back where I was a year ago! You keep up the good work!! You inpire me to keep going!!

Whew! Glad you are okay! Sounds like you are pretty busy.

Congrats on the new jeans! That's fantastic!

Not sure when I will be brave enough to post bathing suit pictures. Lol! I'm thinking about trying a triathlon. Its June 1st. I will let you know how it turns out.

Mel the triathlon is an excellent idea. im trying the Media 5k in May. im going to make it one way or the other.

I did see you are concerned about the bike aspect of the event. im riding my bike now and 8 to 10 miles is highly do-able. just make sure you have a bike shop set the bike up for you and tune it up. i did this with my new bike and it was like night and day as far as effort to peddle the vehicle. also i got a seat called a C9 cloud gel filled seat. its wide and is easy on my hiney. 100% better than the Nazi inspired european ass torture device it came equiped with. let me know how you progress in your training. very intrested......catch you later gator

I'm struggling. I'm sitting in a hospital room holding my mom's hand. Her kidneys have shut down and hospice comes tomorrow, we are taking her home. The last six weeks have been horrible. I'm hurting, tired and not taking care of myself. I have to get through this I love my mom more than any one. She is my one true constant.

My PRAYERS are for your Mom and You and your family. I went through this with my Mother 5 yrs ago, worst part of my life but made me my strongest, Hospice is great they make sure she will be comfortable. You have to make sure you get your Protein in, I know during this time it's the last thing on your mind but we have to take care of our selfs in order to take care of others. May God Bless you and keep you in his arms during this time.

I am so very sorry to hear this! My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your Mom and your family. Mitz is correct, please take car of yourself. It is so very difficult during these times (I lost my Dad nearly 1 year ago). Get your Protein no matter how you have to do it and make sure you get you Vitamins and Water. The rest will take care of itself. You will find that the caregivers that work in hospice truly are angels among us, at least I did with my Dad. Stay strong.

I had my 8 month check up yesterday and the PA said Congratulations you have reached your year goal in 8 months. They wants us to lose 60-80% of our weight by 12 months, I'm at 66%. I told her I wasn't done yet, I'd really like to lose more. :D I'm happy where I'm at, but if I can' lose another 10-25 lbs I'll be at the goal I set for myself.. and I really want to weigh less than my hubby (even though I can now fit into his jeans)

Congratulations!!!

Do they count the 60 to 80% based on excess weight or based on your starting weight? If I go off of excess weight im at 80% now but if I go off of start weight it is lower than that. Im still thrilled.

I think it is based on excess weight? I will ask when I go back in July for my 1 year.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
