Has anyone experienced a cough and sore throat post op? I am curious what I can take for the cough to be able to sleep?

I have not had to take anything since surgery, but my clinic cautioned us to really look at the sugar content. Some cough syrups have a huge amount of sugar and can cause dumping. The told us to look for those that say they are safe for diabetics.

I'm wondering what other June people are able to eat by now. I am still very limited on what I can eat. Mainly yogurt' date=' pudding & soft food. What are others eating?[/quote']

Like you I am eating a lot of Greek Yogurt and I have one protien shake a day. For lunch I normally have a light string cheese because it is so easy to take to work. For dinner though I try to have some variety. I have eaten and enjoyed chicken breast, steak, pork chops, ham, eggs, Turkey meatballs, salmon tilapia, and tuna. All work great for me. Of course I am only eating one ounce!

I guess I've been lucky. I haven't had trouble with anything I've tried. Lately I have been eating a lot of salad but always with a Protein - usually chicken, steak or shrimp. I also do a lot of yogurt and cheese. eggs work well for me. I don't like bread anymore. It doesn't make me sick but sits really heavy. I can occasionally do a flatbread or tortilla.

my cheeks hurt since ive been smiling so much today. i know i still have a long way to go but ill take this victory and savor it for a little while.

Having a rough week! :( my fiancé got called away for work (it's our first time apart for a period of time) and after finally getting myself together and feeling ok about the situation, this happened....

I fell and broke my wrist! Ugh! You should have seen me trying to eat breakfast! Quite a hoot! Lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
