I went to the WL seminar on the 13th of May and they told me i am looking at about 6 weeks until my surgery. I did my phyc evail last week. I see the surgeon on May 29th. I just have to schedule my scoop and wait for insurance to clear me. I am scared to death but i am so excited all at the same time. I hope that is normal?? I have been trying to get things ready. I have reading as many of your posts as i can to find out what you all have done. Any suggestions would helpful. I have been trying Protein powders. I am a big espresso drinker so i came across this Protein Powder by CLICK... its so good!!! It only has 15g protein. I will use it as my coffee treat. I have ordered Unjury vanilla and it should be here on Wednesday. I hope i like it. A lot of people said its the best tasting one. I was also wondering if anyone on here is from Washington State??

I am 9 months post op and I have never regretted having the surgery. I was excited and scared too, that is normal. I just got back from the gym, I rode the bike for 30 minutes and walked on the treadmill for 41 minutes. I never could have done that before my surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
