I'm starting to wonder if I'm not getting enough calories and that's part of the reason my weight loss has slowed. On average I get less than 800 a day. Whats everyone else getting?

It absolutely makes a difference for me. It is so hard to get in more than 800 (on a good day!) but I have noticed that on those rare days when I get in closer to 1,000 I do have better losses. Must ALSO get in at least 64 ounces of liquid.< /p>

I don't know HOW I'm supposed to get closer to 1.000 when I can't even get up to 800! ugh.

I know how you feel. Only days I get to 1,000 is when I eat chips or pretzels, etc or the like. And I don't want to go back to that. Anyone have any suggestions for upping calories without junk food?

I don't count my calories. My doc said if you are eating lean and clean calories will not matter. Always eat Protein first. Protein has 4 calories per 1 gram.

My doctor doesn't want me to count them cause if I don't have enough she doesn't want me to eat junk food to hit the calorie intake. I have counted cause I was curious and I'm lucky if I hit 600 calories a day. As long as I get my Protein in and the liquids then I'm happy.

i'm a newbie but

i asked my nut about counting calories...I figured I'd get in the habit and she said do Protein, then veggies, then fruit, then carbs(as if you could at that point) with pying attention to portions and forget the calories. She said the lifestyle change should focus on Protein and portions...its

's like her mantra!

I don't count calories either. Focus on Protein and Water. Everything I eat is also low fat, low carbs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
